Group Equipment Classes



The Pilates Center offers a variety of group equipment-based classes with class sizes ranging from 4-7 people. Many classes require several privates sessions as a pre-requisite.  We have included a description of the classes but you will need to call us at 757-229-5002 for the current schedule of days and times the classes are offered. We also suggest that you come to our facility to observe the class you are interested in and talk to our staff to be sure it is the right class for you. 


Classes are held on a monthly bases starting the first of each month. Registration and payment are due prior to the first day of the month to reserve your space in class. 


The number of "*"s indicates the level of the class.


* INTRO TO REFORMER:

No experience required

Learn Pilates principles and basic exercises.


* NOVICE PILATES:

4 privates required

Learn the essential level exercises on the Reformer and Cadillac.


** REFORMER/CADILLAC:

10 privates required or 3 months of Novice Classes

This class moves into intermediate Pilates exercises incorporating Integrated Tower, Reformer and Cadillac exercises.


** CIRCUIT:

20 privates and 2 months of classes

This class includes exercises on the Chair, Cadillac, Reformer, Arc Barrell, Balls and Mats, sometimes in a round-robin format.


*** SUPER CIRCUIT:

20 privates, Reformer/Circuit class experience required

More advanced exercises in a fast-paced setting.  May contain cardiovascular segments on the jump board, BOSU, balls as well as exercises on all Pilates equipment. No two classes are the same.


*** INSTRUCTOR'S CHOICE:

Two years Pilates experience required

Every class is different, it may be choreographed to music, include Integrated Tower exercises, or contain cardio segments for a fun and challenging class. For people who like variety and come to Pilates regularly and often!


Group classes offer a different dynamic to Pilates exercises and can be combined with individual private or semi-private sessions to meet your individual fitness needs.
